mariposas.

After checking out this nature photography exhibit at the National Museum of Natural History, I took a detour before leaving to stroll through the butterfly pavilion. Wow! Doesn't nature have a powerful way with symmetry? (Future visitors take note, ticket admission for the pavilion is waived on Tuesdays.)

bonsai at the arboretum.

This weekend bonsai enthusiasts gathered at the national arboretum's festival and, even for a dilettante, it seemed like it would've been a shame to leave without purchasing a little tree. (I chose a ficus with a swirl in its trunk. Shown in the blue pot above). Here's to happy growing!

drink and dance.

I'm relatively new to using and developing film. But after spending some time fumbling around in the darkroom, I'm really starting to enjoy and embrace the process.

A few words on this series above: [1] a European style cafe in my neighborhood, [2] a special collection of pewter goblets, any beverage even water tastes better in them, and [3] a silhouetted couple in a Georgetown storefront. Aren't they dashing?
